GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK GUIDED TOURS
Similar in location and scope as the sunrise Morning Glory tour, evening tours present a richer, spectacular light as the Tetons are back-lit when viewed from Grand Teton National Park. But with the right techniques and positioning, that can be a bonus and we are happy to share our photographic tips of the trade to show you how. We also know where to take you for the best views of the sunset on the Sleeping Indian (a famous landmark mountain feature) in the Gros Ventre Mountains. This tour uses even more viewpoints to take advantage of the evening light. As with the Morning Glory tour, Sunset Sojourn offers the ‘other’ best time of day to catch moose, elk, and bears out of their hiding places. (4 Hours)
Tour Price : Two (2) guests - $295; Each additional guest – add $100. Larger parties – please enquire at 307-201-1670. Park entry fee ($12) not included in tour price.
Out of the Park Tour
This is the local stuff that nobody is going to tell you about (except us.) Our evening tours may also include the Teton Valley in Idaho on ‘The Quiet Side of the Tetons’ where the Alpenglow on the mighty Teton Range is a celebrated local phenomenon. The Teton river is a wildlife Mecca – especially for wetland and river birds great and small. (4 Hours)
Tour Price : Two (2) guests - $295; Each additional guest – add $100. Larger parties – please enquire at (307) 201-1670. Park entry fee ($12) not included in tour price.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK GUIDED TOURS
Guided Tour - Yellowstone National Park
The human history of the Yellowstone region goes back more than 11,000 years. From about 11,000 years ago to the very recent past, many groups of Native Americans used the park as their homes, hunting grounds, and transportation routes. These traditional uses of Yellowstone lands continued until a little over 200 years ago when the first people of European descent found their way into the park. In 1872 a country that had not yet seen its first centennial established Yellowstone as the first national park in the world. A new concept was born and with it a new way for people to preserve and protect the best of what they had for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations.
Yellowstone, as a whole, possesses close to 60 percent of the world's geysers. The Upper Geyser Basin is home to the largest numbers of this fragile feature found in the park. Within one square mile there are at least 150 of these hydrothermal wonders. Of this remarkable number, only five major geysers are predicted regularly by the naturalist staff. They are Castle, Grand, Daisy, Riverside, and Old Faithful. There are many frequent, smaller geysers to be seen and marveled at in this basin as well as numerous hot springs and one recently developed mudpot (if it lasts).
